Structure

Responsive UI
Because of the numerous screen sizes in the auto industries, the structure has to be adaptive. Therefore, a percentage structure was created.

The title and phone number are splitted 50:50 to improve responsiveness across multiple devices and screen sizes.

With steering wheel and input rotary being the most unique use case, because you don’t normally find them in your everyday use. 

Interaction for steering wheel and input rotary

  • Rotary should cycle through on-screen selectable targets with the closest selection first
  • Neither steering wheel nor input rotary cycles through system bar when Assistant plate is active
  • Press on element in focus will select 

Latency

Latency was extremely important for the comms immersive experience. From testing we notice if no indication of latency was included, the first reaction from most user was the infotainment or the phone froze and they’ll want to restart the system while they are driving. Which generate an immense danger to the driver and other around. 

With 3 seconds delay being the ideal time to display the connectivity state.
